So if you have lived in the same home for a long time, it’s quite possible that you have started craving for something new, after all change is not only the necessity but also the spice of life. May be you wish you had a new house but are too reluctant to look for it as it may cost a bomb for your pocket.

Under such circumstances you always have an option – just try and reinvent your home. No doubt little changes in your home can make it look completely different and will also be a pocket friendly idea.

So let us get started and have a look at the various home improvement ideas-

1) Paint your house

Yes, this is the best and cheapest way to give a new life to your home. Just scrap the old chipping paint (do it properly, after all you don’t want your new paint to look uneven), and use the new paint creatively. Experiment with colors, you may create different patterns of your choice. Don’t forget to paint the doors.

2) Plant some trees

Pick up your tools, and get ready to soil yourself. Yes, you got me right get up and plant some trees in your garden, you can have all your favorite flowers now at your doorstep. You can also go for some indoor plants like Money plant or Ponytail plant. It will definitely increase the aesthetic appeal of your home. Also it will give a cooling effect to it.

3) Lighten up your home

Proper lightening can make your home look bigger and livelier. In fact it can do wonders for your home. If you are having a small room or a hallway, incorporating a mirror on one of the walls could be a great idea. It would help in reflection and would add more light to the room. Don’t forget to clean your window panes, it can help you enjoy the sunlight.

4) Get a little new stuff

If you feel your furniture needs a change, go for it. Remember these are one time investments. Also get some new wall pieces for the house. You can use your books to decorate the house as well, just line them up in that corner properly. Recycle things if you can, what I mean is that take out your child’s old teddy's use them to decorate the house. You can even use the bamboo baskets as containers to hold important stuff for yourself.

5) Don’t forget the clear out

Yes this is what most people forget. Don’t know where to use that old table? Not sure why that grandma’s chair is still lying there even after getting a new one? All questions like this have one answer, get them out of the house if they are not useful. You can donate it to some charitable trust or give it away online to sites like Free cycle, Snaffle up, Gumtree etc. This can make your house more spacious.

So what are you waiting for, get up and start working for your sweet little new home. After all, all you need is a will to do so and it comes for free.
